Having been raised by her father alone ever since she was old enough to understand what that meant, Taeko's short life has also been a relatively uneventful one. She hasn't had much opportunity to truly get herself into trouble, mostly just attending school, and spending a lot of her free time with her work-at-home father. There may be arguments that being raised without either parent can lead to developmental problems, but Taeko emerged from her early childhood fairly well-adjusted, though she's certainly her father's daughter.

Taeko has been playing video games almost as long as she's been able to hold a controller, and as her interest in them blossomed, managed to drag her dad into them as well. She's dimly aware that he's not exactly the biggest fan of them, but she enjoys playing them, and doesn't see any reason to stop. Perhaps some more caution would have been apt before convincing her dad to get them Soul Stream ONLINE. After all, no self-respecting gamer of any age would turn down the chance for a full virtual reality MMO, even if MMOs weren't her mainstay.

When her dad went ahead of her to 'make sure it was safe,' she was impatient, but (relatively speaking) understanding. When it seemed that he had fallen into a coma because of it, it was only natural that she get her copy, and make her way into the game herself to save him. Unfortunately, this brilliant and foolproof plan had one failing; that she had no idea how she was supposed to bring her dad back out of the game, now that she's as stuck as he is. Or herself, for that matter. Well, it's not the worst thing that could have possibly happened. She may be trapped, but it hardly feels like a prison. Still, she has her mission; get herself and her dad out. It wouldn't be her fault if she had some fun along the way, though, would it?
